What is Prim or Primitive?
Welcome to the wonderful world of Prim Machine Embroidery! If you are wondering what Prim or Primitive means, maybe this will help :) Prim/Primitive are simple and never perfect. "Primitive" is a present-day term coined from the early 1800's referring to a style from an era where making-do was a way of life. Back than sewing was not a hobby but a required skill. In styling terms primitive can mean rustic, simple, grungy, worn, and anything to reflect a style of yesteryear. "Prim" is a take from primitive but with a more whimsical feel. Items categorized as Prim are a bit more off-kilter and catawampus! Items big in Prim are crows, sheep, penny rugs, willow trees, saltbox houses and sentimental sayings.
Why do I need to register an account?
By registering an account you are able to use the shopping cart to purchase designs, build wish lists, and instantly download any purchases. It only takes a few moments! By registering an account you will also have a record of all designs purchased. If something bad happens to your computer or design, we will be able to replace it easily.
How do I find out about new designs or sales?
Please register for our newsletter to find out all about new designs, sales or specials and freebies. We usually send one email a week, on fridays. You may also keep updated on new designs by visiting our Previous Release page.
What is PRIMe Priced?
PRIMe Priced is HeartStrings' term for on sale! All new release designs are PRIMe Priced at 20% off for the first 2 weeks after release. All new releases can be found in our New Release category.
Do I have to be registered to purchase designs with the shopping cart?
Yes! At this time the store is not able to process orders from un-registered users. Please read our Privacy Notice if you are uncomfortable with giving out your personal information or Contact Us with any questions or concerns.
I do not want to register. Can I still purchase embroidery designs?
Yes! Please Contact Us with your PayPal address, designs you would like and machine format. We will bill you direct through PayPal and email the designs.
Do I have to include my telephone number when registering?
No! HeartStrings Embroidery will never give out your personal information to anyone! But if you are uncomfortable supplying a telephone number when registering please fill in a blank number such as 123-456-7890.
Yikes it asked for my birthday! Do I have to tell the year?
No! If it makes you uncomfortable by all means keep the year a secret. :-) Please use a generic year such as 1980.
I forgot my password, can I have it sent to me?
Yes! On the Login Page there is a link for forgot password. Please insert the email address you used to register and your password will be emailed. HeartStrings Embroidery has no access to member's passwords but if you are still experiencing problems after getting a new password, please Contact Us and we will help in any way we can.
Are your designs manual punched?
YES!! All HeartStrings' designs are manually punched. You will not find any auto digitized designs here!
What is format ALL?
ALL is one zip file that contains multiple formats. Usually the file contains DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP formats as well as a color sequence sheet. If you require a format that is not included, please do not hesitate to ask.
What forms of payment does HeartStrings Embroidery accept?
We accept online PayPal payments and checks/money orders. Payments by credit card will show HSEmbroidery on your credit card statement. If you wish to pay by money order or check, please choice that option when checking out and all important information will be given.
I do not have a PayPal account. Can I still purchase through them?
Yes! A PayPal account is not required and any major credit card may be used. Please complete the checkout process and when you get directed to the PayPal page, choose the "Don't have a PayPal account?" link on the left side of the page to complete checkout using a credit or debt card.
How do I receive my designs?
After completing checkout you will be redirected back to this site, Login to your account and access your account manager (upper left hand corner of the page). There you will see your recent orders and be able to download your designs. Delivery of embroidery designs is through instant download.
How do I download, save and unzip my designs?

The files I download are corrupted. What do I do?
I do apologize for the corrupt file. Please Contact Us with what design corrupted and we will email a replacement ASAP.
I wrote but haven't heard back and it's been over 24 hours. What do I do?
If you wrote and have not heard back please resend your email or use the Contact Us page. We too have spam filters and sometimes things end up in the spam folder that should not. You can expect a delayed response if your email was sent on a friday night or saturday morning since we are closed over the weekend.
I completed checkout and my designs aren't there to download. Why not?
Thank you for your order :-) Sometimes we click a lot faster than PayPal can process and we beat PayPal back to the site. If your designs are not available, please wait a few minutes and refresh your page. Another reason the designs may not be available for instant download is format selection. If a format was not checked the designs will not be available through your Account Manager. If that is the case please Contact Us with the format information and we will email the designs. Another reason the designs may not be available is due to a broken link on our server.
What is your copyright policy?

How does HeartStrings Embroidery feel about copyright?
We take copyright very seriously at HeartStrings Embroidery. We respect our graphic artists and designers and always give credit. In return we ask that our copyright be respected. Please read our Copyright Notice and Design Altering Policy for further information.
How do I go about purchasing or using my Gift Certificate?

I would like to arrange a delivery from the Sewing Angel. How do I do this?
Thank you so much for being a Sewing Angel!! Sewing Angels are very special and HeartStrings Embroidery will help in any way to brighten someone’s day. A gift certificate may be purchased and sent to the recipient but your name will show. If you wish to remain anonymous, please purchase the design you would like to send than Contact Us with the person's name, email and the design you are sending. We will send the recipient a special email with the design attached.
PayPal keeps timing my session out when I'm checking-out. What do I do?
This is a glitch between the store server and PayPal. We believe the problem has been resolved but if you experience this problem please Contact Us ASAP!
I have pictures of projects completed with HeartStrings’ designs. Can I send them to you?
Yes! We would love to include your pictures in our Photo Gallery or on the store listing! Please email the pictures, description and link information to HSEmbroidery@gmail.
I use HeartStrings’ designs on items for sale on my website, do I have to link to your site?
We would appreciate a link back to our site. Please visit the Links page to download our banner and linking information. We would also like to include your site on our links page so please send us your banner and link information.
